William Prasetyo is an Indonesian tenor based in London and a recent graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where he completed his Master of Performance under the tutelage of Sarah Pring and Adrian Thompson. He is now beginning his professional career as an opera singer, building experience through auditions, recordings and performances in the UK and Europe.
Recent highlights include William’s Berlin debut as Basilio and Don Curzio in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro with Berlin Opera Academy, singing Chevalier de la Force in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites at Guildhall, and performing in the chorus of Handel’s Giustino at the Royal Ballet and Opera in London. During his studies, he also received coaching from artists including Nicky Spence and Iain Burnside.
Passionate about opera and song, William hopes to establish an international career as a tenor while helping classical music reach a wider audience in Indonesia and inspiring more young Indonesian singers to pursue a career in music.
William performs Tom Rakewell's aria 'Here I Stand' from Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress.
